Homework: Kindergarteners will bring home a monthly "choice board" filled with different homework activities. Together with your child, make homework choices which match your child's interests, abilities and learning style. Color in the appropriate box when you have completed an assignment. Place any paper activities in the homework folder. At the end of the month, return the folder to school, and we will place the next month's choice board in it to go home. We hope the choice board will help make homework a fun and interesting time for your family.
Birthdays: We are excited to celebrate birthdays in kindergarten. Please contact your child’s teacher to set up a time for the celebration several days in advance. Parents are welcome to attend, or you may simply send in treats to the office. We ask that you bring only one treat, and that it is the same for all the students so that no one is disappointed. You may send napkins and plates, but that is not required. All treats should be nut free. Goody bags, cupcake rings or other similar items are not allowed. Please know that it is district policy that teachers not give out contact information of other parents, and party invitations may not be given out in school. The class parent will compile and distribute a list of student contacts for those families who wish to be included, and you may use this list to arrange birthday parties or play dates.
Dismissal Changes: Please send in any changes to your child's dismissal plans on a paper note in their homework folder. We check these every morning and it will keep down on class interruptions. Of course, in case of emergency or sudden change of plans, please call the office, and we will make sure your child is dismissed properly. Thanks for your cooperation!
